There is basically a three step process required to apply for a divorce. It starts with the filing of a writ for divorce, followed by a statement of particulars and statement of claim. The latter of the three outlines the grounds for which divorce is being filed, which of course must meet at least one of the conditions mentioned above. The statement of particulars lists the details that pertain to the grounds. Children are also taken into account during the divorce proceedings, with the parties expected to make the court aware of their plans for future care of their children under the age of 21.
